French Fashion

The Milliney Shop by Edgar Degas (1882-86)
Hello you guys!! I'm sorry that I have not posted in a while but I have been very busy. This post is about my time at the traveling exhibit of 'Impressionism, Fashion and Modernity.' This event was very nice. It was so nice that we went Saturday and Sunday. It took us about 3 hours to go through on Saturday and it took us about 5 hours to go through on Sunday. There was a line outside of the door to the museum. It only took about 30 min. to get through. There was another line outside of the exhibition which was a 45 min. wait but it did not take that long. When we got inside, the walls were covered in different qoutes like: " La Parisiene is not in Fashion, she is Fashion" or "There are only two ways to be a Parisiene: By birth or by dress." both of these qoutes are by  Arsene Houssaye Laritiste. there were lots of  old clothes like: Dresses, hats, Gloves, paresals, boots, fans, ect. the portrait at the top titled " The Milliney Shop" is my sisters favorite painting that we saw at the exhibition. The painting was painted in 1882 and finished in 1886 by Edgar Degas (the s is silent). It's a 39 3/8 x 45 5/8 inch oil on canvas painting. The amazing thing about this painting is that you could not really see the brush strokes well which gives this painting a very soft look. across from this painting was a huge glass cage-like thing that held hats and shoes.
( picture to the right) the shoes and hats were all from the 1800s and it was amazing to see. My favorite painting is titled "The Shop Girl" painted by James Tissot in 1883 and finished in 1885. this beautiful master piece is on a 57 1/2 x 40inch oil on canvas. What is really spectacular to me in this painting is first its size, as I said before its a 57 1/2 x 40inch  canvas and this picture does not do it justice. The colors that James Tissot chose for this painting are so colorful and expressive. you can clearly see the brush strokes and texture in the painting. this piece truly represents fashion to me in the 1800s.

I am so happy that we were able to experience a small portion of the French fashion in the 1800. I am so thankful that are museum was one of the stopping points. I hope that you guys go see it and love it just as much as I did.

My New York Trip

At Tiffany and CO.
Hello guys I wanted to share pictures of our New York trip that we went on this summer. We had a great time. We drove all the way from Illinois to Connecticut to visit are aunt. From there we took the train to New York where we stayed for two days in the city! We went to Time Square, the Fashion District, Fifth Ave, China Town, and Soho. It was very crowded there, but it was not a big deal when your coming from a big city. Like lots of people have said, it is very dirty. Unlike Chicago they had their trash piled on the streets, and on every corner except Fifth Ave. ( Fifth Ave. was very very clean and not crowded. ) Well here are the pictures. Please enjoy.

Gravity

GGGGGGGAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! this movie was sooo good!!!!! It was way better than what I thought it would be. I never ever ever cry in movies  but this movie was so intense and emotional that yes I did cry. Sandra Bullock your amazing!!!!!! that movie was the best movie I have ever seen and I thought world wore Z was amazing??!! The special effects blew my mind away. They got even the smallest details in like when she would cry like in reality her tears would float in little water bubbles!! When it was getting to the end  and they had the music playing and she was doing her hard core acting and speech I cried till the end. All I can say is that every body should go see that movie and you wont regret it.

Ashleys Tips (Bags)

Ring! Ring! your phone is ringing inside of your purse, AGAIN. You're searching frantically through your messy bag.
"I really need to clean this out; but I don't know how!" You say.
Well, my friend, I do and I can help!

What you will need: A purse, small little pouches, and lots and lots and lots of determination.

Start off by putting all of your makeup into a pouch. This can also include women's toiletries. Next place your cell phone in a very accessible pocket. If you have a certain lip gloss that you're wearing that day, you may place that in an accessible pocket also. If you have an Ipad, just set it in the Ipad pocket, if your purse has one, or just use a really nice Ipad case. If you carry magazines, like me, then obviously they don't have to go into a pouch. If you have your phone charger, headphones, wires, car chargers, or wall plugs, set those all in a pouch too, except for the headphones; headphones can go into an accessible pocket. If you carry highlighters and pens make sure they are sealed and you can clip them onto a pocket in your purse, if you have one. If you don't have a pocket, just set them into a pouch. Clear your purse of ALL receipts.

Now your purse should be filled up with lots of pretty, cute pouches; instead of a dump for all of your junk. I hope that this was helpful. Please comment and subscribe! Thanks.

March 2013 FASHION

EDITOR'S LETTER

    Four Trends to Love

Do you want to know what’s in style for March?
Do you want to know what fashion trends you can try now?
Well then you came to the right spot. Why? Because I’m about to tell you the key pieces that you will need for March and four trends you can try now. Personally I am really loving the gold this month. I am thinking of designing a strawberry apple charm bracelet on a gold chain. This will incorporate the bright pop of color and the elegance of gold. I shall post a picture when it’s all done. Try these four trends; you will be glad that you did.

TRENDS:

Gold! Gold! Gold! Yes gold. Gold rings, bracelets, cuffs, hair accessories ,earrings, and collars. If its gold then your good. I found that if you are brave and pile it on it makes a splendid statement. <3

Cute bright BIG FLORALS are also in. Have you not noticed that every March/April florals are in style? This time try to pick some vintage pieces, or buy some bright floral jeans, and a bright floral shirt. You can tone the look down with some pastel flats, nails, and a bright purse.

BRIGHTS <3
The best way to be girly, fun, and interject color is to wear bright clothes! You can get a pair of lime green pants and make them pop with a white top, some color blocked cap toe flats, a hot pink purse, and gold accents. That's instant chic.

THE FORTH TREND IS .....CLEAR ACCENTS!
If you were smart and bought your clear accents last February/March and thought that you would never wear them again, well they are back in style. Yea!! For all the rest of us unfortunate people who did not buy clear things last year, well then this might help you choose what to get. Clear bags are supper cute. The best way to style it is to buy lots of little  bright pouches and put those inside the clear purse. Some other nice clear things to buy are bangles and clear shoes. (Clear shoes look really cute with bright socks.)

super bonus!!

 SHOES

FLORAL PUMPS
If you want to spice up that beautiful black lace Valentino dress put some of these floral pumps on your feet and it instantly amps up your outfit. God made such pretty flowers why not wear them on your feet?

ANKLE-STRAP SANDALS
You have this super cute spring dress to wear to that luncheon right? But you don't know what shoes to where. Well these shoes will do the job.Be prepared to get lots of compliments.

Verse of the month
proverbs 31:30
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Fun fact
Did you know that the little black dress was created by Coco Chanel?

MAC

I went to mac because I wanted to get a new lipglass in like the perfect pink!!
And I found it with the help of a wonderful sales lady who was so kind to help me pick one out that looks good on my skin tone. The pink that got is not too pink it's just enough to look super cute. But as we all know their lipglasses are soo sticky; But the up side is that because they are so sticky they stay on for like an hour and that's with eating ,drinking, drooling, and licking. but I do think its a bit over priced: the small one is $15 and the big one is like $19(AKA)$20. so i got the small one. but over all I love this lipglass and will be purchasing more in the future.

my nails

I have Wednesday on by zoya and jana by zoya. for the hearts I have white shimmer by princessa
